Birthday concerts - Rudolf Buchbinder turns 70 today

Rudolf Buchbinder belongs to the world’s most sough-after pianists. During his anniversary season, he has already made appearances with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Staatskapelle Dresden, the Salzburg Festival and at the Chicago Symphony Center, to name only a few highlights.

A prominent feature of Rudolf Buchbinder’s career is his cooperation with the Vienna Philharmonic, where he made his debut as early as 1972. “We performed and experienced countless great concerts together”, said Buchbinder about this close partnership. Following a successful tour of Japan with the orchestra, including Suntory Hall, the birthday month sees performances at Vienna’s Konzerthaus, Luxembourg’s Philharmonie and of course at the Musikverein in Vienna, which also dedicates a special artist portrait to him. Furthermore, Rudolf Buchbinder can be heard with the Berliner Philharmoniker in December.
