In memory of Sir Neville Marriner: Kit Armstrong in concert with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields

At june Artists Management, we were deeply saddened to hear the news of Sir Neville Marriner’s passing on 2 October. Sir Neville was a beloved musician and a towering authority in the world of classical music who touched and inspired many with his kindness, his sense of humour and his open-mindedness. He certainly leaves a great void and will be dearly missed.

Kit Armstrong was preparing for concerts with Sir Neville when the sad news reached him from London. The performances in Cologne on 9 October and in Brussels on 10 October mark his debut with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, and Kit was looking  forward immensely to working with Sir Neville and “his” orchestra. After some deliberation, it has been decided that the concerts will go ahead in memory of Sir Neville Marriner under the direction of the Academy’s leader Tomo Keller.

Our thoughts are with Sir Neville’s family, as well as with the players, board and management of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
